The Outdoors

The outdoor recreational market is a billion dollar industry predominately driven and supported by SMEs. But with hundreds of thousands of individuals and families exploring the outdoors weekly, why are so many policies around access, enjoyment, growth and participation devoid of any appreciation of how those policies affect SMEs.

Recreational Fishing

Recreational fishing supports a multi-million dollar trade and tackle sector in Australia predominately propped up by hard-working SMEs in small towns. What does the market look like and what are the policy challenges going forward?

SMEs and the PWC Market

The jet ski or more appropriately termed Personal Water Craft (PwC) market in Australia is a million dollar market helping sustain hundreds of small SME dealers. Yet policy makers want them gone or herded up into small unsustainable areas with no valid explanation as to why.

Dirt Bikes

Dirt bikes can be split up into four key sectors: road, adventure, motorcross and enduro. Combined they are worth hundreds of millions of dollars and again support thousands of SMEs. Education Rider Facilities SMEA has partnered with the Australian Motorcyclist Association and Grassroosts Enduro (Australia Series) to design and implement a series of professionally designed rider training facilities across Australia. We proposed the concept back in early 2018 with the Western Australian Minister and he thought the idea had significant merit. The concept is really simple: the better rider you are off road, the safer you will be on road. We also envisage in WA developing a complimentary high end enduro training facility. We have land set aside on the east-coast and will continue to work with state and local governments to develop the idea with the hope of having a facility operational by mid 2020.
